Fatemeh Bagherighajari, a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), received the Best Paper Award at the 10th World Congress on Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer (MHMT 2025), held in Barcelona, Spain.<\/p>\n
In addition to being a doctoral student, Fatemeh Bagherighajari is a researcher at the ClusterDEM Lab, which is part of C-MAST, the Centre for Mechanical and Aerospace Science and Technologies. This individual recognition once again highlights the quality of the research conducted at UBI and its associated research centres.<\/p>\n
The conference at which the UBI student received the award took place from 8 to 10 April and marked its 10th edition. The MHMT Congress is recognised as one of the leading international events in the fields of heat and mass transfer, energy, and fluid dynamics, bringing together hundreds of researchers, engineers, and academics from around the world each year.<\/p>\n
The award-winning paper, entitled \u201cComputational Analysis of Non-Reacting Flow in a Non-Premixed Burner Featuring a Plasma-Enhanced Bluff-Body Swirler,\u201d was co-authored by Fatemeh Bagherighajari and Jos\u00e9 P\u00e1scoa and Mohammadmahdi Abdollahzadehsangroudi, both faculty members of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n
The study forms part of Fatemeh Bagherighajari\u2019s PhD thesis, supervised by Jos\u00e9 P\u00e1scoa.
